MISSISSIPPI AGRICULTURE & FORESTRY MUSEUM - JACKSON
The mission of the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum is to create an environment that communicates the value of past and present Mississippi agricultural lifestyles, relationships, and practices and their relevance to the future of all people.
Visit the Heritage Center and Small Town Mississippi to learn about the importance of agriculture to the state of Mississippi!

MISSISSIPPI MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE - JACKSON
Meet over 200 living species in our 100,000 gallon aquarium network. See native reptiles, fishes, and amphibians! Explore an entire wall of fossil specimens, Zygorhiza, Mosasaurus, and a giant Sloth. Check out deer, waterfowl, and Mississippi's endangered species exhibits. The Preschool Discovery Room features colorful murals and an iconic, giant treehouse with a slide. Plus, two miles of outdoor walking trails that wind through natural habitats. The museum was named the "2014 Escape to the Southeast Travel Attraction of the Year" by the Southeast Tourism Society.

MISSISSIPPI SPORTS HALL OF FAME - JACKSON
In April 1991, the Mississippi Sports Foundation was conceived over a casual lunch at a Jackson eatery. Today, with enthusiastic statewide support and some 500,000 visitors later, this once casual concept proudly stands as “Mississippi’s First Museum for the 21st Century.”
Operated by the Mississippi Sports Foundation, Inc. (MSF), a non-profit corporation established in June 1992, the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum occupies 21,542 square feet on Lakeland Drive in Jackson. The site, donated by the City of Jackson, is adjacent to the Jim Buck Ross Agriculture and Forestry Museum and across from Smith-Wills Stadium.
Memorabilia from the former Dizzy Dean Museum is also a part of the Museum’s second floor exhibit area.

MISSISSIPPI MUSEUM OF ART - JACKSON
Located in the state Capital of Jackson, the Mississippi Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the state and has been a community-supported institution for more than 100 years. The Museum boasts an impressive permanent collection of more than 5,000 works of art, in addition to hosting world-class traveling exhibitions. The Mississippi Story, a free ongoing exhibition comprised of more than 200 objects from the Museum’s permanent collection, offers Mississippians and visitors alike the opportunity to explore the remarkable history of visual arts in the Magnolia State. In addition to fulfilling its mission of “engaging Mississippians in the visual arts,” the Museum also offers unique shopping in The Museum Store.

MUSEUM OF MISSISSIPPI HISTORY - JACKSON
The Museum of Mississippi History encourages people to explore and appreciate our state's history. We present rich and complex stories that illustrate how our shared past influences our future together.
Located in the heart of downtown Jackson, the museum explores over 15,000 years of state history. Visitors will enjoy innovative exhibits, educational programs, and hundreds of artifacts. The Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum opened on December 9, 2017, in celebration of the state’s bicentennial.

MISSISSIPPI CIVIL RIGHTS MUSEUM - JACKSON
The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum shares the stories of a Mississippi movement that changed the nation. The museum promotes a greater understanding of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement and its impact by highlighting the strength and sacrifices of its peoples.
Visitors will witness the freedom struggle in eight interactive galleries that show the systematic oppression of black Mississippians and their fight for equality that transformed the state and nation. Seven of the galleries encircle a central space called “This Little Light of Mine.” There, a dramatic sculpture glows brighter and the music of the Movement swells as visitors gather.

Old Capitol Museum - Jackson
The Old Capitol is Mississippi's most historic building. Built in 1839, it was the site of some of the state's most significant legislative actions, such as the passage of the 1839 Married Women's Property Act, Mississippi's secession from the Union in 1861, and the crafting of the 1868 and 1890 state constitutions.
